Tartan is a globally-recognised, potent symbol of Scottish identity, linking fabric and country to identity and belonging. This mosaic of different tartans - Many Strands, One Nation - is a visual representation of the interweaving and connection of a people united in our desire for our country to assert its rightful place in the world as an independent nation. It represents the connections between everybody who lives here - all Scots, by either birth or adoption. Clan means family, and this symbolizes the clan of everyone who lives in Scotland.
